Lori Cooper, Ed.D.
Dr. Lori Cooper became Vice President for Human Resources for the Arkansas State University System in July 2025, following her role as Associate Vice Chancellor for Human Resources at Arkansas State University.
With deep roots in Arkansas State’s academic and administrative community, Dr. Cooper brings a blend of strategic vision, institutional knowledge, and human‑centered leadership to her system‑level duties. Her responsibilities include oversight of systemwide human resources policies, organizational development, talent management, compliance, employee relations, and fostering a culture of excellence across all ASU System institutions.
Dr. Cooper has earned multiple degrees from Arkansas State University, including Ed.D. (Doctor of Education), Specialist in Community College Teaching, M.A. in Political Science and B.S. in Management. Her academic preparation has equipped her with both theoretical grounding and practical insights in educational leadership, organizational behavior, and workforce development.
Over her career, Dr. Cooper has held leadership roles within the HR domain at Arkansas State, where she oversaw not only core HR functions but also administrative units such as payroll services, training and development, environmental health and safety, Title IX and institutional integrity and wellness initiatives.
As the system’s HR executive, she is positioned to guide and align human capital strategies across multiple campuses and units, promoting consistency, efficiency and employee engagement in service to the ASU System’s mission and goals.
