University Relations
The Office of University Relations, led by Vice President for University Relations Shane Broadway, organizes government related affairs and advocates government activities throughout the Arkansas State University System. The office builds connections among the university and state and federal agencies including the Arkansas General Assembly, Congress and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, as well as legislative representation in Little Rock and Washington D.C.
Its services include:
- Representing institutions in all governmental relations activities with executive, legislative and regulatory branches.
- Monitoring legislative committee meetings, as well as interim committees and study proposals.
- Representing institutions at public higher education work groups that are involved with statewide business organizations.
- Giving system institutions a positive voice for reputation, brand and quality at the State Capitol, as well as across Arkansas and the region.
- Responding to a variety of information requests by internal and external constituents, including the Legislature and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.
- Assisting with campus-specific economic development efforts regarding federal research opportunities.
- Developing statewide partnerships and activities that enhance campus activities.
