ASU System Areas of Service

The Office of General Counsel, led by Senior Vice President and General Counsel Brad Phelps, offers a central contact point for legal issues affecting all ASU System institutions, providing legal review on contracts and agreements, recommending action on legal affairs and representing the system and its institutions in legal matters.

The Office of Finance, led by Associate Vice President Landen Crancer, coordinates financial policies and procedures for the ASU System and manages systemwide employee benefits. The office assists with capital project financing including coordination of bond and other finance packages with underwriters, counsel and trustees.

The Office of Internal Audit, led by Mandy Walker, supports the Arkansas State University System by assessing the effectiveness of internal controls, ensuring the accuracy of financial records, and verifying compliance with standard accounting practices, government and state regulations, and university policies and procedures.

The Office of Strategic Communications & Economic Development, led by Vice President Jeff Hankins, is responsible for facilitating all communications and working collaboratively on economic development activities on behalf of the ASU System.

The Office of Strategic Research, led by Vice President for Strategic Research Eric Atchison, provides leadership for system efforts to improve academic outcomes and increase efficiencies through the management and analysis of a variety of institutional data for the ASU System.

The Office of University Relations, led by Vice President for University Relations Shane Broadway, organizes government related affairs and advocates government activities throughout the Arkansas State University System. The office builds connections among the university and state and federal agencies including the Arkansas General Assembly, Congress and the Arkansas Department of Higher Education, as well as legislative representation in Little Rock and Washington D.C.

The Office of Human Resources, led by Vice President for Human Resources Lori Cooper, and Office of Employee Benefits, led by Associate Vice President Chris Howlett, are dedicated to supporting our campuses and employees through comprehensive HR services and benefits administration. We provide guidance in recruitment, employee relations, policy development, compensation and professional development to ensure a consistent and positive employee experience across the System.
