The Arkansas State University System provides Long-Term Disability (LTD) insurance to all benefits-eligible employees — at no cost to you. This important benefit helps protect your income if you become unable to work for an extended period due to a qualifying illness or injury.

- Premium Cost: Paid 100% by ASU
- Administered by:
- Centennial Insurance – Claims submission
- UNUM – Claims payment
Plan Features
- Eligibility: Coverage begins on the first of the month following 90 days of employment
- Benefit Amount: 60% of your salary, up to a maximum of $6,000 per month
- Elimination Period: Benefits begin after a 180-day waiting period (the time you must be continuously disabled before payments start)
- Pre-Existing Condition Clause: Applies for two years from your coverage start date
