Common Course Numbering Initiative

Simplifying Student Transfers & College Credit Mobility

The Arkansas State University System’s seven institutions are transitioning to 5-digit course numbers in fall 2026. See details about the initiative here.

This transition is part of the statewide Common Course Numbering initiative that aims to:

  • Maximize credit mobility for students across institutions.
  • Strengthen equitable transfer pathways between campuses.
  • Simplify administrative processes, including transcript evaluation.

The system builds upon the existing Arkansas Course Transfer System (ACTS) and introduces:

  • A standardized schema for credit-bearing courses.
  • A separate schema for noncredit workforce training.
  • No requirement for renaming courses or altering course descriptions.

To view the new course number/subject codes beginning in the Fall 2026 term, use the dropdown menus below to select a subject area or enter in the search boxes the old course subject code and/or number or the old course title and click on the course for more information.
