WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. – The Arkansas State University Mid-South Chancellor Search Advisory Committee and ASU System President Todd Shields today announced that four finalist candidates have accepted invitations to visit the campus in West Memphis and formally interview for the position of chancellor.
The finalists are:
- Dr. Brad Baine, vice president of academic affairs at Black River Technical College in Pocahontas;
- Dr. Gregory Hudson, an educational consultant and former vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Philander Smith College in Little Rock;
- Dr. Derek Moore, former president of New Mexico Junior College in Lea County; and
- Dr. Jane Sims, former president of Copiah-Lincoln Community College in Wesson, Miss.
More details about the finalists, including bios and resumes, can be found on the ASU Mid-South website at https://asumidsouth.edu/about/chancellor-search/.
The invitations to formally interview on campus later this month come after recent meetings Shields conducted with the Chancellor Search Advisory Committee, which is chaired by ASU System Board of Trustees Chair Robert Rudolph Jr. The advisory committee – representing faculty, staff, students and community representatives – reviewed 60 applications for the position.
“We received a deep pool of quality applicants, and we look forward to having the finalists on campus,” Shields said. “Our constituencies will have an opportunity to visit with them later this month, and we will welcome feedback for this important step in the future of ASU Mid-South.”
Each finalist will meet with the advisory committee, faculty, staff, students, and community members during interview sessions, including Baine on Oct. 19, Moore on Oct. 20, Sims on Oct. 21 and Hudson on Oct. 22. Individuals attending the interview sessions will have an opportunity to submit feedback regarding each candidate.
Dr. Debra West, chancellor at ASU Mid-South, previously announced her plans to retire in December.
